Find out how St Paul’s is connected with the broader Diocese of London, how to arrange visits with your local church and more.
St Paul’s plays a key role within the Diocese of London. This page gives information for those living and worshipping in our city, about our relationship with the Diocese, and how to get more connected with the Church in your local borough.
St Paul’s Cathedral is the mother – or principal – church of the Diocese of London, and where the Bishop of London has her seat.
We pray daily for the life and ministry of the people of God in our local community, and host many different diocesan services – including confirmations, ordinations, licensings, and the annual Sung Eucharist with the Blessing of the Oils and the Renewal of Ordination Vows on Maundy Thursday.
Find a church in London
The Diocese of London is made up of more than 500 parishes and worshipping communities.
If you wish to find a local community of worshippers, we recommend visiting the Church of England’s website A Church Near You. Here you can find contact details for local churches, as well as details of their facilities and accessibility, and information about regular services and upcoming events
Visiting the Cathedral with your Church
We are always delighted to welcome groups from parishes and schools across the Diocese to visit us. To arrange a parish visit or pilgrimage, contact the Chaplain on chaplain@stpaulscathedral.org.uk. It’s helpful for groups attending a service to let us know in advance they will be visiting, so that we can, where possible, reserve some seats and welcome you publicly.
If you’d like to visit with your school, please contact the Schools and Family Learning team on learning@stpaulscathedral.org.uk or find out about our schools activities on our Schools pages.
Individuals are very welcome to attend any service at the Cathedral without notifying us. Find out more information about what’s on in our calendar of services.
