St Paul’s welcomes over 450 children, parents and carers for Messy Cathedral 2024
St Paul’s welcomes over 450 children, parents and carers for Messy Cathedral 2024
Taking place at the start of Lent, this year’s Messy Cathedral encouraged children to reflect on how we live and look after the world today, and how we can care for God’s creation.
The highlights included planting sunflowers, making bug hotels, a planetarium, activities to reflect on the quarter dome mosaics, and interactive music workshops. With these activities, the children were able to use their creativity and imagination to think about our role in the world, and the role that Lent plays to Christians.
Messy Cathedral takes place annually at St Paul’s, in partnership with Messy Church, the Cathedral, and the Diocese of London. Messy Church is a global organisation that invites people at all stages of faith to join in activities, songs and prayers, to celebrate and learn more about Christ. Visit the Messy Church website to find out more about their work.
The morning ended with the Bishop of London leading the Eucharist, attended by many of the children and their families.
