Over the past four decades, licensed mudlarks have recovered many historically significant artefacts while searching along the River Thames at low tide.

See some of the personal belongings which people escaping from the Great Fire of London lost as they crossed the river fleeing from the all-consuming inferno. Mudlarks will display historic artefacts from their private collections which reveal fascinating stories about past Londoners. This exhibition is part of the Thames Festival which celebrates the River Thames with arts events, active adventures, environmental initiatives, heritage and education programmes.
