Changes to opening times, services and sightseeing
Is the Cathedral open for sightseeing?
The Cathedral is open for worship and private prayer only until Tuesday 20th September. Entry for sightseeing will resume from this date.
What’s happening to your normal services?
The Cathedral is open for our full pattern of regular services.
Please see our Service Schedule for further details.
I had sightseeing tickets booked. Can I rebook for another date? Can I get a refund?
If you booked your tickets directly with the Cathedral via our website or with our groups team, we will already have contacted you by email to inform you of our closure and that you will be refunded. There is no need to contact us to obtain your refund.
If you purchased your tickets from another provider, please contact them directly for advice about re-booking or returning your tickets if that is possible.
Our ticketing website will remain unavailable until Tuesday 20th September, and will reopen for new bookings on that date.
Will planned events at the Cathedral still take place during the period of National Mourning?
Most planned events and other planned special services due to take place during the period of National Mourning have been cancelled. This includes family activities as part of the Open House London Festival on Saturday 17th September, and the Thames Festival Hands on History exhibition in the Crypt on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. Our Sunday Organ Recital with William Fox on the 18th September at 4.30pm will go ahead as planned.
