Over the past four decades, mudlarks have recovered many historically significant artefacts while searching along the River Thames at low tide.
By recording these objects on the Portable Antiquities Scheme and donating them to museums, mudlarks have made an astonishing contribution to the understanding and preservation of London's rich history. Within St Paul's Cathedral, a distinguished panel of guests will discuss the important contribution of mudlarks, the conservation of riverine archaeology and sustainable practices to protect the foreshore environment for future generations.
Panel Guests: James Trimmer (Port of London Authority), Stuart Wyatt (Museum of London/PAS), Dr Claire Harris (Museum of London Archaeology / Thames Discovery Programme), Tim Miller and John Dunford (Society of Thames Mudlarks) and Adrian Evans, (Thames Festival Trust). Hosted by Marie-Louise Plum (Old Father Thames, Mudlark)
Ticket required: £5/ticket.
